AERIALS
Keith Humphries & Son supply a vast selection of television aerials
ranging from the standard ten element aerial to the one hundred element,
high gain anti-ghosting aerial.
These aerials are to cover the wide signal spectrum from analogue to digital.
A site survey is carried out before installation to establish which aerial
will provide optimum signal, ensuring you the best picture quality. Keith
Humphries & Son specialise in poor reception areas and channel 5 problems.
All aerials and materials supplied are of a high quality. Only galvanised
wall brackets, alloy masts and welded chimney brackets are used. Low loss
cable is used for all analogue aerial installations and an approved double-screened
cable is used for all digital aerial installations.
Radio Aerials
There are three different
types of Radio Aerials, their use being dependent upon what stations you
wish to receive.
The AM Aerial - AM meaning Amplitude Modulation. This
is the old medium wave aerial, however some radio stations do still transmit
on this band. The recommended aerial used for this band would be an Omni
directional whip.
The FM Aerial - FM meaning Frequency Modulation. This
is now the most common band of transmission that the majority of radio
stations use, as it provides a clear sound with very little interference.
There are two types of aerial used to receive this band, either an Omni
directional for strong stations or directional element aerials for stations
with weaker signals. The latter aerials are also used with specialist
tuner equipment.
The DAB Aerial - Digital Audio Broadcasting.
T the newest transmission band offering crystal clear sound of CD quality
because digital radio doesn't suffer from the effects of interference.
Currently a limited number of radio stations transmit on this band, but
the number of stations will increase in time. The recommended aerial for
digital radio is the directional vertical five element.
